Benefits of Zinc Coating & Vapor Honing
What are the benefits of Zinc Coating?
Zinc coating prevents corrosive substances from reaching the underlying metal. Additional electroplating such as a chromate conversion coating may be applied to provide further surface passivation to the substrate material. Chromate comes in many colors, we offer the following-
Our classic Yellow Chromate is what most people go for when having parts plated. We can say most cars use this color from the factory and it stands out just enough on your car without overdoing it!
Black chromate is another popular one since it leaves a nice black iridescent look while not being a statement piece. We see black chromate being used mostly on “Stealth” Builds since it pairs very well with darker colors!
Lastly Another fan favorite is Blue chromate. Not only does the name throw people off but so does the look. Blue chromate is more like a silver/chrome/Shiny metal finish. It has the smallest hint of blue in it which is barely noticable. This color is very popular for older muscle cars and pairs well with polished parts in an engine bay and much more!
Why should you Vapor Hone your parts?
Vapor honing is a surface refinishing process. Operators use the process to clean and restore surfaces. When refinishing aluminum, for instance, vapor honing seals the pores of the metal. As a result, the finished product looks better compared to sandblasting. The process results in a shinier and much smoother surface.
